Coronavirus Outbreak

Do you know what the first thing is that you should do when faced with a crisis? The first thing you should do is make sure you are right with God. “Okay,” you say, “how do I know how to be right with God?” I’m glad you asked because I have the answer. You must bring yourself into a relationship with God. You must ask Jesus into your heart and give God complete control of your life. Gloria Copeland says that all she said to God was, “God, Take my life and do something with it.” That’s it! Her life was saved, and she was now in God’s family. She has God on her side here on earth, and she is assured of her home in Heaven. “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a person is born again [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified], he cannot [ever] see and experience the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).
“Well,” you may say, “I’m a pretty good person. I volunteer, and I look out for the little guy.” That’s great, but you cannot get into Heaven by good works. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). You want to be a part of God’s family so His Covenant blessings are yours here on earth. You don’t want to have anything to do with God? Then “your wickedness has separated you from your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear” (Isaiah 59:2). Personally, I want God to hear me when I cry out to Him. I want Him on my side, fighting for me.
So now that your have made yourself right with God, you can call on His protection and mercy over you. He also gives you a brain to use. If you say, “I’m going to jump off this cliff, and God will save me,” guess again. “God cannot be tempted by (what is) evil, and He Himself tempts no one” (James 1:13). Read about the blessings that are now yours in Deuteronomy 28. Be glad that you are saved from the curses listed at the end of that same chapter, of which the coronavirus is one.
Fear brings on evil. Fear is faith in the devil just as faith is trust in God. Keep yourself from fear because what you fear, the devil loves to put on you. Look at Job’s words in the Bible, “For the thing which I greatly fear comes upon me, and that of which I am afraid befalls me” (Job 3:25). Be wise and use the brain God has given you. Wash your hands and keep away from others when you are sick. This is simple common sense. Speak His protection over you as His child, but do not fear. Speak Psalm 91 over you and your family.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!” For He will save you from the trap of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and a wall. You will not be afraid of the terror of night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction (sudden death) that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but danger will not come near you. You will only [be a spectator as you] look on with your eyes and witness the [divine] repayment of the wicked [as you watch safely from the shelter of the Most High]. Because you have made the Lord, [who is] my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent. For He will command His angels in regard to you, to protect and defend and guard you in all your ways [of obedience and service]. They will lift you up in their hands, so that you do not [even] strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and cobra; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. “Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him; I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].
“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. “With a long life I will satisfy him and I will let him see My salvation” (Psalm 91).
